As a performer and composer myself, i have begun uploading pieces unto youtube. Bear with me though, as most of these performances are done at 'Destiny's (from ffr) grand piano, so the reverb and acoustics is not the best yet.

VIDEO GAME: Zorsy and Destiny as 'Gamemusic4u'

Video game music (or any film music in that sense) in my opinion is highly underrated. To the casual listener, video game music is just ‘something that comes from a video game’, nothing else. But there is more to video game music then just its presence in a video game. Video games in many cases (such as final fantasy, Chrono Trigger, first person shooters such as halo, and even Super Mario) contain storylines in which sense create certain moods and atmospheres (… there’s more to it then beating the baddy).

Like program music, we can form an image in our minds reflecting these various moods. For example, the melodies within final fantasy take us through a different world, and heighten our minds to experience different things. But in saying that, many of the music can give us emotions in itself, similar to romantic music. A good example of this would be Hikari ~ the opening song of Kingdom Hearts.

Without mentioning names, I have a friend who said that he/she cried when listening to the song.

But hey, Nostalgia can also come about as well when people hear the classic tune of Mario… people even sing along to it!
